Birch Run Speedway
Weather and Construction Delays have forced Reschedule of Hammer Series Outlaw Super Late Model Event
Birch Run, Mi- Fervent Construction activity has been ongoing since the frost broke at Birch Run Speedway - Last week, the track selected a window of opportunity that was not conducive to racing, but what could begin our paving and pit expansion plans that were final approved this winter. We have had great strides made in the last 4 days - however that window closed up for our available completion before the May 6th Scheduled event. Torn up grounds and un stable rain actuality & probability forecasts for Tuesday, Friday and Saturday have prompted Birch Run Speedway and Reveal the Hammer Series Officials to reschedule the May 6th Event for a Huge Combined Show with the CRA All-Star Tour this September 10th. This will be a premium event for fans, with all the details revealed as they are developed further. We are unhappy for the short term. The long-term improvements to the speedway and this combined special event in the fall for fans will make this a have to see show for any serious Midwestern race fan. Racing stardom will fill our pits this September. The drivers will have a premium facility to house them and the fans will have the opportunity to experience all that Birch Run Speedway has to offer.
We've added some pics so you can see some progress. We're soaking wet today, with rain continuing into the evening, but despite the rain the short track was able to be ground this morning to provide the anchor for the new surface. The 26 new slabs are poured and saw cut, and partially back filled. The mini wedge track is improved. the turns have had grinding and leveling work performed. WE are in process on the short track paving, but rain delayed. Drivers have had immeasurable patience while we accomplish what we can, when we can at the mercy of Mother Nature. The fans have had our backs too. The short track has been a hard abrasive surface on tires and the wallet for too long for our competitors. These delays, and the improvements to everywhere in the pits are wonderful amenities for the driver's future events here. We can't wait for them to be launched. Our Grand Opening 2022 will now be May 13th with Friday Night Thunder Modifieds, Must See Sprint Cars, VROA Vintage Mods and MCR Dwarf cars all on the big track. CRA practice will also be part of this Friday day and night Colossal Show! Saturday will have a full show as well with the JEG's CRA All-Star Tour, American Trucks,DTS Modifieds, Applebee's Sport Compacts and Pro Sport Compacts, Pure Stocks, & a $1500 to win Street Stock show and motor city core figure 8's! We thank everyone for their continued patience and open-minded flexibility as we manage with these ever changing conditions and improvements to our facility.
