Dvorscak Spooktacular Picking Up Trick or Treat Triple!
Ghouls, ghosts, and goblins made their way to Birch Run Speedway and Event Center to take part in the Monster Smash Eve of Destruction presented by Monster X Metals and Gold as the Halloween themed weekend provided the closer for on track activity. Adults and children in costumes ranging from a garbage man to a crazy cat lady and everything in between were spotted roaming the grounds, while cars and trailers were decorated as well.
In the Pull Race, Anthony Richardson picked up the checkered flag. Justin Pepitone grabbed the win in the Push Race.
In the Back to School Race, Jason Dvorscak picked up his first ever win when he crossed the line first after 15 laps of dodging other competitors and the buses. Paul Rigda III topped the Spectator Drag field in his Pontiac Grand Prix.
The Flag Pole Race was ran on the 4/10 mile for the first time and a full field of 26 cars started. In the end, it was Aaron Abeare picking up the win.
The Double O Pumpkin Smash race, which had over 100 pumpkins scattered on the backstretch of the 1/3 mile, saw Greg Long III lead the first half of the race until he was sidelined with issues. Paul Rigda III took over the top spot and sailed to the win.
General Manager of the Birch Run Speedway and Event Center Jason Lord and Race Director Jeremy Kelley got behind the wheel to compete in the School Bus Figure 8 Race. However, it was Gerry Persails Jr. besting the field of drivers and claiming the win.
To close out the night, Jason Dvorscak backed up his earlier win by claiming 1st in the Trailer Figure 8 as well as winning the award for the best decorated trailer!
The next event for the Birch Run Speedway and Event Center will be the Champions Banquet on November 19th. The event will be held utilizing the Clubhouse and the Gas Alley Bar and get kicked off at 5 p.m. The night will feature appetizers, a catered dinner, light dessert and a cash bar. Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children 6-14.
