Rowe wins Dixie 100; Jason Dvorscak gets first oval track win!

The only stop for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance to the Birch Run Speedway drew a multitude of fans as the racing season is quickly coming to a close. Fast qualifying awards for the night's racing went to:
Limited Late Models: Josh Hahn 17.075
Nelson Hydraulics American Trucks: Joe Shamel 17.209
Finishline Seamless Gutters Pure Stocks: Jim Miller Jr. 17.085
JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour: Justin Schroeder 15.614

The Nelson Hydraulics American Trucks were the first feature out and Jason Dvorscak picked up his first-ever oval track feature just two weeks after getting his first Figure 8 feature win. The Swartz Creek, MI driver got around Josh Shaw on lap four and survived several restarts after cautions to park his number 67 in victory lane. Greg Long Jr. finished second ahead of Michael Dvorscak, Cam DeLong, and Rickie Gillett.

Jim Miller Jr. picked up his sixth feature win of the season in the Finish Line Seamless Gutters Pure Stocks feature, but it was far from easy. Duane Damon led early and was soon challenged by Bruce Dunton Jr. The duo made contact and Damon went around and Dunton went to the back with Miller Jr. sustaining cosmetic damage to his left front. Damon continued to lead on the restart and was being challenged by Andrew Burton and Lonnie Saumier. Both would take a crack at the leader, but Miller used the inside line on a later restart to get by Saumier and then Damon on the next lap to take the lead. Miller survived a three-lap shootout to pull away and put his Fish Bone Custom Lures/Michigan Auto Core number 9 in the winner's circle ahead of Hunter Doutre, Duane Damon, Matthew Mosier, and Anthony Williams.

The JEGS/ CRA All-Stars Tour 100 lapper saw Blake Rowe move from his third starting spot to the lead on lap nine, and from there take the victory in the Dixie 100. The race went green for the first 50 laps before the field was slowed for the competition caution at lap 51. The race was slowed two more times, with Rowe fending off the challenges of Chase Burda each time. A caution with 10 laps to go was a turning point as Burda challenged the inside of Rowe out of four on the ensuing restart and the two made slight contact on the frontstretch. The two remained side-by-side into one and it was then that Burda went around on the inside and the caution flew once again. Rowe would hold off Chase Pinsonneault over the last nine laps to pick up his second win of the season. Completing the top five were Dan Leeck, Barrett Polhemus, and Brandon Varney.

Dalton Worthy got the early lead in the Limited Late Model feature before the action was slowed on lap three when the cars of Shawn Edmonds and Brian Bero came together on the front stretch. Bob Farley lined up outside of Worthy on the restart and the two remained neck-and-neck for a lap until Worthy spun in turn one. Ed Muckenthaler lined up alongside Farley for the restart and took the lead away from Farley. Farley challenged Muckentahaler multiple times on the inside before jumping to the outside with three laps to go and going on to grab the checkered flag. Muckenthaler finished second and moved into the point lead with Josh Hahn, Bero, and Worthy completing the top five in the race.

The night wrapped up with the Figure 8 feature and Andrew Burton, who started second, got the lead in turn one and never faltered in taking his Top Speed Motorsports number 05 to the win ahead of Anthony Williams (who started 10th), Duane Damon, Jason Dvorscak, and Josh Connell.

There is no racing at Birch Run Speedway this Friday, but the racing action will return on September 6th for Season Championship night for all divisions! The Wheeler Trucking Modifieds, Showcase Auto Sales Street Stocks, Limited Late Models, Finish Line Seamless Gutters Pure Stocks, Nelson Hydraulics American Trucks, Front Wheel Drives, and Figure 8s will all be in action. Coming into the night the point leaders and battles are:
Wheeler Trucking Modifieds: Kyle Hayden is 45 points ahead of Nick Lechota
Showcase Auto Sales Street Stocks: Kyle Callahan is eight points ahead of Duane Damon
Limited Late Models: Ed Muckenthaler is two points ahead of Brian Bero
Finish Line Seamless Gutters Pure Stocks: Jim Miller Jr. is 75 points ahead of Hunter Doutre
Nelson Hydraulics American Trucks: Cam DeLong is 19 points ahead of Jason Dvorscak
Front Wheel Drives: Nicholas Murdock is 10 points ahead of Randy Moore
Figure 8s: Anthony Williams is 13 points ahead of Andrew Burton.
