Birch Run Speedway Attends Year End Banquet at Drive One Detroit
Roseville, MI- This past week, Birch Run Speedway's management team Jason and Christy Lord were invited to attend the year-end banquet at Drive One Technical Center. They had an absolutely wonderful time!
Drive One is 501c3 Non-Profit that provides at risk youth with vocational training in Automotive Technology, Machining, Welding, Woodworking, and Transportation Design.
The relationship for Birch Run Speedway began when Drive One began coming to the historic speedplant to race student-built race cars. Birch Run Speedway General Manager Jason Lord had this to say "It was really nice of Paul Tregembo to invite us to the banquet. The kids there are really special and have a passion for learning. I think it is great there is an option for students to get hands-on learning at an institution like Drive One. I have a feeling we will be seeing more of Paul and his students in 2022!"
"Birch Run Speedway apparel was a popular choice in the door prize selection at the event." Jason notated when speaking of the evening. "The kids seemed to head to our stuff quickly!"
Drive One can be proud of their workmanship in many ways. Their vintage Chevrolet Nova "Outlaw Street Stock" won best looking car in their respective division at the 2021 Birch Run Speedway Awards Banquet. Thats quite a feat when you are students building cars against some of our area's most talented racers.
If you would like to know more about this program at Drive One, a full comprehensive, informative website can be found at www.driveone.net. Your first opportunity to see the Drive One Students and team in action at Birch Run Speedway will be 4/30/22 at the Birch Run Speedway Huge Opening show "The Cabin Fever 100", part of a Triple Crown Series that is taking place with the JEGS All-star Tour in 2022.
