Monster X Metals and Gold Eve of Destruction Round 1 results
The action returned to the Birch Run Speedway and Event Center as the Monster X Metals and Gold Eve of Destruction Series took to the track for the first time in 2026. Fans and drivers were treated to some traditional carnage and chaos, and had the chance to experience a new event.
The first event up was the Pull Race, and a familiar face returned to victory lane. Anthony Richardson pulled his teammate, Jamie Lindsey, to the win ahead of Tyler Myers and Paul Rigda.
The Push Race saw Paul Rigda push his partner, Darby Christensen, around the third mile, and the other competitors to pick up the checkered flag. The duo beat out Haven Hall and Joe Prevo.
Doug Hennessy beat the other competitors to the first Flagpole, went ‘round and ‘round the others, and into the winner’s circle in the Flagpole Race. Caitlin Scully and Kevin Ryle completed the podium in the event.
A new event, Red Light/Green Light, challenged drivers and delighted the fans. The 15-lap event, a nod to the children’s game, had an added element of surprise: the yellow light was randomly displayed to tell drivers they had to do a donut from a standing stop. Multiple drivers took turns at the top spot, but Anthony Richardson got the win in the event ahead of Gerry Persails Jr and Jason Grissom.
The 50-lap, $1,000 to win Enduro also featured a new challenge for the competitors with the addition of a water and soap mixture placed on the racing surface. Justin Pepitone grabbed the lead and was masterful in slipping and sliding around the track and through traffic as he held the lead. Gerry Persails Jr did the same, coming from the 18th starting spot. Pepitone’s motor started sounding rough, and with 17 laps to go, Persails was able to close and snag the lead en route to landing the win. Pepitone held on for second ahead of Tyler Myers.
